Día de la Hispanidad

INTRODUCCIÓN

La II CUMBRE DE ARTE LATINOAMERICANA DEL MKAC” y su exposición “Viajeros del Arte” se organiza para conmemorar el “Día de la Hispanidad”, (12 de octubre de 2011), y contribuir a acrecentar la presencia de las artes plásticas hispanas en el panorama del arte contemporáneo internacional.

El nombre de la exposición es elegido, intencionadamente, para poner de manifiesto el dinamismo creador de los artistas; la variedad de técnicas, estilos, soportes, materiales empleados; remarcar el dinamismo creativo y artístico pero, sobre todo, para resaltar la actividad dinámica realizada por los artistas en el espacio y en el tiempo.

DESCRIPCION DE LA II CUMBRE DE ARTE LATINOAMERICANA

La exposición pictórica, “Viajeros del Arte”, reúne a 47 artistas, 93 obras y a 21 países de Latinoamérica, a España y a Portugal y cuyo cartel ha sido elaborado por el artista español Xosé Luis Otero.

Gracias al número de artistas que han participado en ella ha sido posible cumplir los criterios básicos en la selección de obras y pintores: la calidad de las obras, requisito imprescindible; la solidez de las trayectorias profesionales de estos; la variedad de la temática, que permitiera constatar la riqueza de temas; la pluralidad en el empleo de técnicas, (acuarela, óleos, collage, aguafuerte, acrílicos…); la proliferación de estilos artísticos, que proporcionaran a la muestra riqueza y diversidad.

Sumados todos estos criterios, ha sido posible mantener el objetivo de tipo educativo y pedagógico que, también, pretende alcanzar la exposición al proporcionar un amplia visión del arte latinoamericano, español y portugués.

 OBJETIVOS GENERALES Y ESPECIFICOS

Objetivos generales

– Conmemorar el “Día de la Hispanidad”, 12 de octubre de 2011.

– Difundir el arte latinoamericano.

– Romper estereotipos establecidos sobre el arte de Latinoamérica.

– Vincular las artes plásticas a otras disciplinas artísticas y creativas.

– Poner de manifiesto la enorme importancia de las TICs en proyectos de carácter artístico.

– Demostrar la transcendencia de los nuevos programas informáticos y de los metaversos en la promoción y difusión del arte.

Objetivos específicos

– Promocionar y difundir la obra y la trayectoria profesional de los artistas que participan en la II Cumbre.

– Dar a conocer la variedad de recursos artísticos, (temática, materiales, técnica…), del arte hispano.

– Divulgar e impulsar e arte a través de los programas informáticos 3D.

– Demostrar a los pintores, la importancia de las nuevas herramientas informáticas en la difusión de su obra y trayectoria artística.

– Establecer vínculos profesionales entre los artistas participantes.

– Crear nexos de unión entre las artes plásticas y otros tipos de creación artística como, por ejemplo, la literatura, la cerámica…

– Poner de manifiesto la importancia del entorno social, geográfico… en la producción artística.

UBICACIÓN E INAUGURACION DE LA EXPOSICION

L exposición “VIAJEROS DEL ARTE», se ubica se los tres edificios que forman el museo: el Edificio Principal y el Edificio SCHUMANN acogen las 93 obras de los 43 pintores, (2 obras por artista), distribuidas en zonas por países, figurando en cada zona o panel las 4 obras de los dos artistas; sus nombres, sus fotografías con los CV de cada uno, el nombre y la bandera del país.

El tercer edificio, el AULARIUM, acoge una muestra informativa con textos sobre datos generales de todos los países de Latinoamérica, España y Portugal: arte, economía, demografía, educación, ciencia y tecnología, sanidad, deportes, literatura…

La inauguración tiene lugar el 12 de octubre de 2011, “Día de la Hispanidad”, a las 23:30 h. (02:30 PMSL), en el Salón de Actos del museo. La Directora del museo saluda y da la bienvenida a todos los asistentes y hace una breve disertación sobre la planificación, organización y los objetivos de la exposición, tras lo cual presenta al conferenciante, WM SCHUMANN, que realiza la conferencia “El desafío de los metaversos en los ámbitos artísticos”.

A continuación se visita la exposición y tiene lugar un espectáculo de luz y sonido en las instalaciones del MUSEO KARURA ART CENTRE, (MKAC).

METODOLOGIA Y DINAMIZACION. ACTIVIDADES Y EVENTOS

Con el fin de difundir al máximo el contenido de la cumbre, todos los textos explicativos de la muestra se presentan en español e inglés y se organizan actividades y eventos, que contribuyan a la divulgación de la misma, oportunamente programados en el tiempo.

La Dirección del museo programa los tiempos de tal forma que se puedan realizar eventos que surjan de forma espontánea.

Las actividades y eventos realizados son los que se especifican a continuación:

a) “Día del Artista”: actividad por la cual se resalta, durante un día, la obra y trayectoria de cada artista participante en la cumbre con un “Panel Informativo”, en la Sala Velázquez del museo, con sus 2 obras, fotografía, nombre y CV; mensajes en el blog del MKAC, foros, redes sociales, avisos en la web oficial de Second Life y avisos internos a 11 grupos, (de habla hispana y anglosajona)…

b) “Artes Plásticas y Literatura”: ofrece información sobre un escritor o escritora oriundo de cada país y una de sus obras literarias; los elegidos fueron Augusto Roa Bastos, Óscar Acosta, Camilo José Cela, Danny Laerrière, Enrique Jaramillo Levi, Fabián Dobles Rodríguez, Gabriel García Márquez, Hilma Contreras, Isabel Allende, Jacinta Escudos, Jorge Enrique Adoum, José Saramago, Laura Antillano, Mario Benedetti, Mario Vargas Llosa, Miguel Angel Asturias, Octavio Paz, Paulo Coelho, Silvia Ocampo, Víctor Montoya y Zoe Valdés.

c) Visitas guiadas: se organizan 6 visitas guiadas a la exposición y otras 6 surgen de forma espontánea.

d) Tertulias: se planifican las tertulias “Transcendencia de la pintura latinoamericana en el arte internacional” y “Esencia pictórica del arte latinoamericano”.

e) Charlas: se realiza una charla a cargo del pintor cubano Yoel Díaz Gálvez en la que el artista analiza sus dos obras que se muestran en la exposición y ofrece información sobre sus orígenes y trayectoria profesional.

f) Jornada sobre poesía: en la que se da a conocer la obra poética 12 poetas latinoamericanos, (Gioconda Belli, Antonio Isaza, Rubén Márquez, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Amado Nervo…).

g) Eventos musicales: se realiza un concierto y una velada musical a cargo de Karma Auer y de Morlita Quan, respectivamente.

j) Comunicación interpersonal entre los artistas participantes: al finalizar la exposición, la directora del museo facilita a todos los artistas participantes en ella un listado con las direcciones de correo electrónico de todos ellos para que puedan contactar entre sí.

II CUMBRE DE ARTE LATINOAMERICA, (2011), VERSUS I CUMBRE DE ARTE LATINOAMERICANA, (2009)

En la planificación de la II Cumbre se han programado y realizado eventos diferenciadores con la realizada en el año 2009, aunque muchas de las actividades se han mantenido por considerarse importantes y positivas por los resultados obtenidos al realizarlas hace dos años; ello ha ocasionado, sin duda, no sólo una mejor difusión sino, asimismo, una mayor expectación.

Los elementos diferenciadores son, entre otros, los siguientes:

– La utilización de las redes sociales Linkedin y Twitter.

– La introducción de actividades que permitieran vincular el arte a otras formas creativas como, por ejemplo, la literatura, a través de la actividad “Arte y Literatura”; con el cine, la escultura y el cine latinoamericanos.

– Se envía información y notas de prensa a medios de comunicación, escrita y oral, de habla inglesa.

– Se incluye en la exposición a un segundo artista haitiano y a pintores portugueses.

– Se genera una lista de sustitución de 16 artistas.

EVALUACION

Dos son los tipos de evaluación realizadas sobre la exposición “Viajeros del Arte”: por una parte, se aplicó una evaluación específica a cada una de las actividades y eventos realizados, por otra parte, se realizó una evolución y análisis global al término de esta muestra pictórica.

Los resultados de los procesos evaluativos que se realizaron sobre la exposición han sido óptimos y se han percibido, de forma objetiva y verificable, en el aumento del vistas recibidas al museo, a los canales de información utilizados por el museo y al interés demostrado por particulares y colectivos relacionados con el mundo del arte.

CONCLUSION

La relevancia de la realización de la II Cumbre de Arte Latinoamericana del MKAC ha quedado de manifiesta tanto por la información aportada en los apartados 7, 9 y 10 de este documento y por el interés demostrados por organismos e instituciones que han advertido la relevancia de la utilización de los metaversos y de los programas informáticos 3D y, concretamente, de Second Life en la realización de proyectos artísticos de gran importancia; en la trascendencia que tienen en la difusión y divulgación tanto de la obra y trayectoria de los artistas, en particular, como en la propagación de actividades artísticas, en general, y en la transmisión de la información y del conocimiento relacionados con el arte.

The MKAC helps artists to show their art works to the entire world through the virtual world of Second Life. The Direction of the museum has tried with the organization of this SUMMIT II OF LATIN-AMERICAN ART to spread the Latin-American art; to promote and to promote the Latin-American artists; to establish professional bonds between all the taking part artists and to offer, across the exposed works, a varied and rich sample of styles, subject-matters, skills and diverse and different resources. Other purpose has been that of establishing a comparison with the Summit I, celebrated in the year 2009, and establishing signs that were differentiating them.

INTRODUCTION

The Second Summit of Latin American Art of the MKAC and the exhibition «TRAVELLERS OF THE ART» were organized to commemorate the «Columbus Day» (October 12, 2011), and contribute to increase the presence of Hispanic plastic arts in the international contemporary art scene.

The name of the exhibition was chosen intentionally in order to show the creative dynamism of artists, the variety of techniques, styles, media, materials used, and to highlight the creative and artistic dynamism but especially the activity performed by artists in space and time.

DESCRIPTION OF THE OF LATIN AMERICAN ART II SUMMIT

The painting exhibition, «TRAVELLERS OF THE ART», brought together 47 artists, 93 works and 21 Latin American countries, Spain and Portugal. Spanish artist Xosé Luis Otero designed the poster of the exhibition.

Thanks to many artists who have participated in it were possible to meet the basic criteria in the selection of works and artists: the quality of the works as fundamental requirement, the strength of the careers of the artists, the variety of themes that allowed us to verify the richness of topics, plurality in the use of techniques (watercolor, oils, collage, etching, acrylic…), the proliferation of artistic styles that provide a richness and diversity to the exhibition.

Taking all these criteria, it was possible to maintain the objective of educational and pedagogical type and also intends to achieve the exhibition providing a broad overview of Latin American, Spanish and also intends to achieve the exhibition providing a broad overview of Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese art.

GENERAL AND SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

 General Objectives

• Commemoration of the «Columbus Day», October 12, 2011.
• To disseminate Latin American art.
• Breaking stereotypes about Latin American art.
• Linking the arts to other artistic and creative disciplines. .
• To demonstrate the enormous importance of the ICTs in projects of artistic character.
• To emonstrate the transcendence of the new software and the metaverse platforms in the promotion and dissemination of art as something prolonged on time.

Specific objectives

• To promote and disseminate the work and careers of the artists participating in the Second Summit.
• To publicize the variety of artistic resources, (themes, materials, technical…) of Hispanic art.
• To disseminate and promote the art through the 3D software.
• To demonstrate to the painters the importance of new software tools in the dissemination of his work and career.
• To establish professional links between the participating artists.
• To create links between the plastic arts and other forms of artistic creation, for example, literature, ceramics…
• To highlight the importance of the social and geographical envinroment in artistic production.

LOCATION AND OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION

The exhibition «TRAVELLERS OF THE ART», were located in three buildings which form the museum complex: the Main Building and Building SCHUMANN welcomed the 93 works, distributed by country areas, appearing in each panel or zone the four works of two artists, their names, their pictures with the CV of each, their names and country flag.

The third building, the AULARIUM, hosted an informative sample text of general data from all Latin American countries, Spain and Portugal: art, economics, demography, education, science and technology, health, sports, literature…

The inauguration took place on October 12, 2011, «Columbus Day» at 23:30 h. (02:30 PMSL) in the Lecture Hall of the museum. The Director of the museum greeted and welcomed all attendees and gave a brief presentation on the planning, organization and objectives of the exhibition, after which she introduced the speaker, W.M. SCHUMANN, who made the conference «The Challenge of the Metaverse in artistic fields».

Then the delegation observed the exhibition and there was a spectacle of light and sound at the facilities of the Museum Karura Art Centre (MKAC).

 METHODOLOGY AND DYNAMISM. ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS

To ensure the broadest possible content of the summit, all the explanatory text of the exhibition was presented in Spanish and English and were organized activities and events that contributed to the dissemination of it, all planned promptly.

The museum management scheduled the times in order to hold events that could came spontaneously.

The activities and events were those specified below:

a) «Day of the Artist»: activity in which was highlighted during one day, the work and career of each artist participating in the summit with a «Informative Panel» in the Velazquez Room of the museum, with their 2 pieces, photography, name and CV; posts in the MKAC blog, forums, social networks, ads in the official website of Second Life and internal notices to 11 groups (Hispanic and Anglo).

This activity was carried out over 47 consecutive days (excluding Saturdays and Sundays) and lasts from October 14th until the 19th of December. (Example: Yoel Díaz Gálvez)

b) «Art and Literature»: provided information about a writer or a writer born in each country and one of his literary works, those elected were: Augusto Roa Bastos, Óscar Acosta, Camilo José Cela, Danny Laerrière, Enrique Jaramillo Levi, Fabián Dobles Rodríguez, Gabriel García Márquez, Hilma Contreras, Isabel Allende, Jacinta Escudos, Jorge Enrique Adoum, José Saramago, Laura Antillano, Mario Benedetti, Mario Vargas Llosa, Miguel Angel Asturias, Octavio Paz, Paulo Coelho, Silvia Ocampo, Víctor Montoya y Zoe Valdés.

c) Guided tours: Six guided tours of the exhibition were organized and six other arose spontaneously.

d) Discussion: The talks were held about the topics: «Transcendence of Latin American painting in the international art» and «pictorial essence of Latin American art.»

e) Speech: The Cuban painter Yoel Galvez Diaz gave a talk in which the artist discussed his two works shown at the exhibition and provided information on his sources and career.

f) At the Journey about poetry were released the poetry of twelve Latin American poets: Gioconda Belli, Antonio Isaza, Ruben Marquez, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, Amado Nervo…

g) Musical events: Took place a concert and a musical evening by Karma Auer and Morlita Quan.

h) Radio interview: was held on January 21, 2012 and attended by artists of the summit and the director of Museum Karura Art Centre:

j) Interpersonal communication between the participating artists: at the end of exhibition, the museum director provided to all the artists involved a list of email addresses of all of them so they can contact each other.

k) Multimedia Events: During the exhibition were displayed on the screen in the museum gardens the following videos corresponding to different artistic and cultural categories:

The closure of the exhibition «TRAVELLERS OF THE ART» was covered entirely (works, biographies, careers, art criticism…) in the museum’s blog.

 REFLECTION ON THE TRASCENDENCE OF THE CONTENTS OF ACTIVITIES

With the completion of the activity «Day of the Artist» we managed to publicize the work and career of the artists and create bonds between them, facilitating contact with each other and involving the users of Second Life in the exhibition and bringing them closer to art world.

This was achieved through the guided visits to exhibitions where the audience, after an explanation, commented the works on display. The debate was complemented with the implementation of gatherings and lectures given by Art experts and the own artists such the Cuban painter Yoel Diaz.

With other activities such as «Multimedia Events», «Plastic Arts and Literature» and «Musical Events» the plastic arts were related with other areas of creativity, noting the importance _ and influence of the environment in artistic production. This transcendence was stressed throughout the entire event with the exhibition of various videos.

It was confirmed the relevance of the radio interview with the participation of the artists Pedro Cruz Sunu, Yoel Diaz Galvez, Luz Darriba, Arquímedes Mejia, Gustavo Cabalero y Samuel Pinell, interview which allowed establishing a closer relationship and binding between them due to real-time sharing of their own experiences.

Finally, the publication of the exhibition in the museum’s blog and the production of a video of the event on the Internet leaving a permanent record of this collective exhibition, emphasizes the importance of the new technologies in the diffusion of art and artists promotion; importance that was demonstrated, among other things, by the number of compliments and favorable reviews sent from many users of many social networking sites to the Address of the Museum Karura Art Centre.

THE SECOND SUMMIT OF LATIN AMERICAN ART MKAC IN NUMBERS

Visits to the museum during the first 24 hours: 183

The above data demonstrates the interest generated in this Second Summit of Latin American Art of the MKAC. Expectation is demonstrated in particular by the large increase in visits (exposition, museum, blog and social networks), related to those received at the First Summit of Latin American Art of the MKAC in 2010.

SECOND SUMMIT OF LATIN AMERICAN ART (2011) ART VERSUS OF LATIN AMERICAN FIRST SUMMIT (2009)

In the planning of the Second Summit events were scheduled and conducted differentiating to the 2009, although many of the activities were considered important and maintained for positive, for the results achieved two years before. This has resulted undoubtedly not just in a better dissemination but also a higher expectation.

The differentiators were, among others, the following: – The use of social networks as LinkedIn and Twitter. – The introduction of activities that allow to link art to other creative ways, for example, literature, through the activity «Art and Literature», with film, sculpture and American cinema. – Information and were sent press notes to the media, written and oral for English speakers. – A second Haitian artist and Portuguese painters were included in the exhibition. – The creation of a replacement list of 16 artists.

DIFFUSION

All activities and events around the Second SUMMIT OF of Latin American Art of the MKAC have been publicized through the following channels of communication and in the following way:

a) Disclosure on our digital media channels (blog, forums and social networks; Apt-13).

b) Disclosure in Second Life: Internal Notices in 11 groups of Second Life: Seven Hispanic and four Anglo-speaking with a total of 9,983 recipients, a general weekly notice on the exhibition, a daily notification of a specific character («Day of the Artist» Latin American writer or author, broadcast video…)

c) Disclosure means of written and oral communication: Press releases to newspapers and radio stations, virtual and not virtual, in Spanish and English.

INTER VIRTUAL – NO VIRTUAL RELATIONSHIP

The relationship established from the collective exhibition «TRAVELLERS OF THE ART» is manifested in the spread of exhibition sites, blogs, forums … outside the museum, in the relationship that many of the artists set up through their emails and social networks, in the fact that 7 artists were users of Second Life, in the desire of many artists to perform solo exhibitions at the Museum Karura Art Centre, in the increase of visits to the exhibition related to the First Summit organized in 2009, in the recommendation that some of the artists did to other artist friends to participate in this Summit, in the interest, through e-mails to the MKAC from institutions and arts associations, private and public, the radio interview held to several artists or publication in the digital magazine Suite 101.net (II Cumbre de Arte Iberoamericano del MKAC en Second Life) or other publications (El arte dominicano en cumbre internacional, MKAC un referente en la difusión del Arte en el Metaverso, Viajeros del arte, II Cumbre de Arte Latinoamerica del Museo Karura Art Center “Viajeros del Arte 2011”, Cultur@ (Apt. EVALUATION

There are two types of evaluations conducted on the exhibition «TRAVELLERS OF THE ART»: on the one hand a specific evaluation was applied to each of the activities and events on the other hand, a global analysis, was performed at the end of this pictorial displays. The results of the evaluation processes that were performed on the exhibition have been optimal and have been perceived, in an objective and verifiable way, on increasing of the visits received in the museum, the information channels used by the museum and the interest shown by individuals and groups related to the art world.

CONCLUSION

The relevance of the performance of the Second Summit of Latin American Art of the MKAC has been obvious by the information provided in paragraphs 7, 9 and 10 of this document and the interest shown by organizations and institutions that have realized the importance of using 3D metaverse platforms based in Second Life model, that include a part of CG design for users and work as social networks, in the realization of artistic projects of great importance, in the relevance they have in the dissemination and disclosure for the work and career of the artists, particularly as a propagation of artistic creations, in general, and the transmission of the information and the knowledge of the art.
